Director of Communication

Ann Hoevel is an information designer, a digital content producer, a strategic planner, an editor, and a writer. She is the director of communications for the College of Design, a Georgia Tech graduate (STC’98), and a nationally recognized nerd.

Her digital communications career began at CNN.com. There she produced the Style & Décor and Geek Out! beats, managed Special Report websites, programmed sections of the CNN.com main page, and contributed to award-winning news coverage (including 9/11, the War in Iraq, Hurricane Katrina, the Sendai Tsunami, US Presidential Elections (2000 – 2012), and the Sandy Hook Elementary Shooting.)

At the College of Design, she used her expertise in website planning to completely reinvent the College’s digital footprint. She managed the College’s name change process in 2016 and developed a new narrative for design at Georgia Tech. Ann helps the College resonate with broad audiences through content that focuses on novel and altruistic outcomes of design thinking.
