John Peponis holds B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London, and was one of the co-creators of space syntax working there as a researcher and lecturer in the 1980s. He has been a professor at Georgia Tech since 1989. In 2019 he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Thessaly, Greece, for his contributions to architectural research.
